UBS Financial Services EMEA Sanctions Officer in London, United Kingdom

Your role:

Do you have the experience and expertise to assess and provide guidance on UK, EU, and international sanctions in the context of complex financial products and transactions? Do you want to protect the financial system from direct and indirect sanctions risk? Are you someone who likes to do the right thing? Do you know how to maintain independence and objectivity?

We are looking for someone like that to:

  • Act as the subject matter expert and escalation point for EMEA and UK sanctions on complex business transactions

  • Represent the EMEA Sanctions programme in the context of regulatory exams and internal and external audits

  • Assist with designing and embedding of key sanctions policies, procedures, systems and operating models

  • Maintain the EMEA sanctions control framework via annual Risk Assessments, key procedural controls, model validation exercises, management information, and participation at various internal and external working groups and committee discussions

  • Conduct reviews of EMEA businesses with respect to sanctions controls and practices

  • Provide training on UBS's risk appetite and Sanctions minimum standards

Your experience and skills:

You have:

-Significant expertise in analysing EU, UK, OFAC, and UN sanctions laws and requirements

-Expertise in advising on investment banking products and services

-Knowledge of and experience in advising on wealth management products and services

-Previous experience in a sanctions compliance role in a large financial institution, or equivalent experience in government or a law firm
