Your role:

Are you a software engineer with broad technical skills and experience in the whole development lifecycle? Do you want to apply your skills by providing application templates and blueprints enabling teams to develop high-quality software? Would you like to bring your ideas into a compact agile team to further extend its services for the UBS developer community?

We are looking for someone like you to:

  • extend our collection of application templates currently featuring reference implementations for Java front-ends, web service providers, mobile hybrid apps and RESTful service providers

  • be part of an agile team and flexibly taking over roles in a Scrum or Kanban setup

  • deliver software complying to highest standards regarding design and code quality as well applying industry good practices regarding build, test and deployment automation

  • write software documentation and user guides and support teams making use of the provided application template and blueprints

  • collaborate closely with our colleagues from CTO to ensure compliance with the latest UBS architecture principles

  • give presentations and lead workshops to promote the use of the team's services within the developer community

Your team:

You’ll be working in the IT development of Wealth Management, Private & Corporate Clients in Zurich. We plan and lead IT projects in the area of Channels & Workbenches and create solutions for our clients and client advisors.

The MOAP (Mother Of All Projects) team engineers templates and blueprints that help to create new and enhance existing applications. Templates can be instantiated quickly, provide working examples, demonstrate good practices at UBS IT and come with extensive documentation. Blueprints provide working examples and a description on how to solve a specific problem.

Your experience and skills:

You have:

  • a graduate degree in software engineering

  • comprehensive knowledge of software engineering, including deep knowledge of Java 7/8, JavaScript (ES6, TypeScript) and HTML5

  • a deep understanding of frameworks such as Spring, AngularJS, React and Hibernate

  • a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies

  • experience with software development in enterprise environments

  • fundamental experience in designing secure, robust and scalable frontend and Java backend applications

  • successfully performed pair programming and code reviews

  • worked with continuous integration build servers

  • implemented automated unit and integration tests

  • know fundamental web standards such as HTTP, and concepts such as REST

  • experience with XML, JSON and associated technologies

  • worked on and developed for various platforms (e.g. Windows, Linux, iOS, Android)

  • a good understanding of software versioning tools (e.g. Git)

You are:

  • an experienced software engineer with high dedication to quality code, proper documentation and automation

  • able to cope with complex challenges in software engineering and interested in exploring and evaluating new technologies

  • communicative, client-oriented and feel comfortable giving presentations and holding workshops
