Your role:

The IT System Administrator is responsible for administering, maintaining, enhancing and implementing system changes from small components, to entire complex systems infrastructure, adhering to the established industry standards. This also involves monitoring and controlling the performance and status of the infrastructure and the physical computer equipment on which systems and applications operate. This role ensures that the operation of the infrastructure is in

accordance with established procedures and practices. Whenever infrastructure availability, integrity or performance are

compromised, the System Administrator will ensure that prompt and competent action is undertaken.

Your experience and skills:

Working with other technical teams in the support and enhancement of the core infrastructure to ensure better reliability and resilience, while at the same time making the environment more cost effective.

  • Proposing and implementing systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system

  • Monitoring usage and performance and troubleshooting server, software, and hardware issues

  • Assisting with recommending, scheduling and implementing system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs

  • Analyzing complexity and feasibility of new or changed requirements., and advising on existing and planned systems, UBS standards and guidelines

  • Within specified architecture, defining platform requirement sizing, network and controlling components and system

software. Planning, evaluating, migrating, developing, implementing, configuring, testing and rolling out systems

(hardware or software, networks, controls), ready for operations.

  • Analyzing outages and defective states, initiating and monitoring measures to remedy them (3rd level support).

  • Embed Risk Awareness by designing and operating an effective control environment, proactively identifying and raising control deficiencies and driving diligent and sustainable risk remediation
